| Resumo: | Philip Glass is a composer of international success collaborating with several filmmakers from the 80s of last century. Throughout his vast musical output to film, and not only, we find the use of a wide range of musical technics and processing of sound, supporting the construction of a sound copyright in collaboration with other cultural actors.
Researching the musical production of Philip Glass for film, documentary or other record, we find that it is extensive and significant. Held over 30 years, it projecting various topics and ways of doing things with art. In those works it is noted more recently a series of films where the subject shows us a spiritual, mystical and/or religious concern: the case of The Spain Apostle (2010) under the direction of Fernando Cortizo (in collaboration with other composers), or O Nosso Lar (Our Home, 2010) under the direction of Wagner de Assis.
We intend to understand how the musical it’s constructed to elucidate these contents. We aim to analyze the sound in order to understand which techniques are used and whether they show different musical forms, in particular those works made from the year 2000.
In this way, we search facts that allow us to tell whether the musical it’s redefined to be better integrated into filmic content or, if on the other hand, it remains the same over the years, and it is the visual that acquires the imagistic content of each proposed theme and movie work. |
